No. Fragment (Telegram's own storefront) requires you to bridge to TON, manage a TON wallet, and pay TON gas. uSwap takes your existing crypto on any chain and credits Premium without you ever touching TON.
Buy Telegram Premium with Crypto
Telegram's official storefront (Fragment) is TON-only. uSwap takes any crypto you hold and credits Premium directly to any @username. No TON wallet, no Fragment account, no checkout dance.
Why this exists
Telegram Premium is a $4.99/month (annual rate) subscription that unlocks faster downloads, 4 GB file uploads, exclusive stickers, premium reactions, voice-to-text on long messages, custom emoji status, and a handful of UX upgrades (folders, profile background, no ads on public channels).
The product is good. The checkout for it is hostile if you’re paying in crypto.
- Apple’s App Store and Google Play charge their usual 25–30% platform fee on top, and they want your card on file.
- Fragment (Telegram’s own crypto checkout) is TON-only. You need a TON wallet, you need TON in it, you need to bridge or buy TON from somewhere, and you need to navigate Fragment’s own UX. If you’re already a TON user, fine. If not, it’s a ten-step prerequisite for a two-step purchase.
- Gift cards for Telegram Premium don’t exist in the usual sense — Premium is account-attached, not a code.
uSwap replaces all of that with: send any crypto on any chain, enter the @username, get Premium credited. That’s the whole flow.
What “any crypto” really means
uSwap routes across 30+ networks. The ones most users send for Premium specifically:
- BTC — on-chain or Lightning. Lightning settles in seconds; on-chain is whatever the mempool says.
- XMR — first-class. The privacy angle is the most common reason people buy Premium through uSwap rather than the App Store. Min ≈ $30 USD for XMR routes.
- ETH and major L2s — Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Scroll. Gas on L2s is sub-cent for most months.
- USDT — on TRC-20 (cheap), ERC-20, BEP-20, Polygon, Arbitrum, Solana, or TON if you happen to hold it. TRC-20 is the volume default.
- USDC, SOL, BNB, LTC, DOGE, NEAR, TON plus 20+ more.
If you hold something obscure (Stellar, Aptos, SUI, Zcash, …) the engine still routes it.
How it differs from Fragment
Fragment is fine if you’re already in TON. If you’re not, here’s the side-by-side:
- Fragment: requires a TON wallet, requires TON in it, settles on TON, no other chains supported, requires you to interact with Fragment’s own UI for the purchase.
- uSwap: any chain, any asset, no TON exposure required from you. You send what you hold; the engine handles getting Premium credited.
For most non-TON-native users — which is most users — uSwap is “Fragment minus the TON prerequisite.” For a TON-native user who already has TON liquidity, Fragment is fine and there’s no reason to layer uSwap on top.
Gifting
Premium has always been gift-able. uSwap makes the gift flow easier because the recipient never sees a “claim your gift” link — Premium just appears on their account. From their perspective the badge shows up next time they refresh.
You enter the recipient’s @username at checkout. That’s it. You don’t need their phone number, their Telegram ID, their consent, or any kind of receipt-confirmation flow. The credit posts to their account directly.
Plans and pricing
The four plans Telegram offers:
- 1 month — most expensive per-month rate; useful for one-off testing.
- 3 months — middle-ground; common gift duration.
- 6 months — sometimes the gift sweet spot.
- 12 months — best per-month rate. Often ~30% cheaper per month than the 1-month plan. If you know you want Premium for a while, this is the right plan to buy.
There is no platform fee on the crypto leg. The retail markup on the Premium price (which is small for Premium relative to gift cards) funds the engine.
What happens after you pay
Three things, in this order:
- You send the deposit. Bridge page shows the chain confirmation count.
- The engine routes. You see one rate; the engine does whatever’s needed to credit Premium on the Telegram side.
- Premium activates on the @username. The badge appears within seconds of the credit posting.
If you’re watching the bridge page in real-time, you’ll see the state transitions: created → matched → executing → completed. The whole thing is typically under 10 minutes from deposit-confirmed to badge-active.
Recovery
Same recovery model as everything else on uSwap. Send the wrong amount? The engine re-quotes against what arrived and offers market-replace at the current rate, hold for review, or refund to a different address. Send the wrong chain (e.g. ERC-20 USDT when the page expected USDT on Solana)? Same flow. No support tickets, no waiting for someone to look at your case.
