The crypto path to Nitro

If you’ve never had a problem paying for Nitro with a card, this page isn’t for you. Most users never need a crypto-pay-in path — Discord’s billing works, the renewal runs, the badge stays. Continue paying with whatever’s already on file.

The crypto path exists for the long tail where the card path doesn’t work:

• Your card was declined once for fraud-system reasons that have nothing to do with you, and now Discord’s billing system flags subsequent attempts.
• You’re in a country where Discord’s payment processor doesn’t have great coverage — pockets of the Middle East, South America, Africa, and parts of Asia routinely fail card transactions for reasons no user can debug.
• You want to gift Nitro to someone without going through Discord’s gift-link UI, which requires them to click through a flow rather than just having the Nitro appear.
• You don’t want a card relationship with Discord at all. Some users prefer to pay once, get the term they paid for, and not have an auto-renewal-able card on file. The crypto path is one-shot by default — there’s no stored payment method for next month.

The duration tiers are Discord’s standard. uSwap doesn’t mark them up beyond the platform’s small spend-side markup that funds the engine.

How the flow works

1. Pick the plan. Basic or Full, monthly or yearly.
2. Enter the Discord account. Yours or someone else’s. You need their username or ID (not their email or phone).
3. Send the deposit. Any supported crypto. BTC on-chain settles in 30–60 minutes; Lightning is seconds; USDT on TRON is sub-cent and sub-minute.
4. Nitro activates. Once the deposit confirms, the Nitro credit posts to Discord’s side and the badge appears in seconds.

Why 0% on the crypto leg

Same model as everything else on uSwap. The crypto-to-crypto side of the engine is free at the platform layer; the cost of running the engine is funded by the small retail markup on the spend side (Nitro, gift cards, Telegram Premium, etc.). If you only ever swap crypto on uSwap, you pay nothing. If you spend, the markup is what the platform earns.

The crypto cost you do pay is the network gas on whichever chain you send from. Lightning is sub-cent; USDT on TRON is a fraction of a cent; L2s are usually under $0.05; on-chain BTC is whatever the mempool says.

Recovery

Same flow as every other intent on uSwap. If you send the wrong amount, the engine re-quotes and offers market-replace, hold, or refund. If Discord’s side rejects the credit (account doesn’t exist, etc.), the intent moves to hold and you can either provide a corrected username or refund. No support ticket queue, no waiting room.

A note on gifting

Gifting Nitro via uSwap is materially easier than via Discord’s own gift-link UI. You enter the recipient’s username and pay; Nitro credits directly to their account. They don’t need to click a link, accept a gift, or do anything. The Nitro badge appears the next time they open Discord, and they get a notification telling them who sent it.
